About Korey Cooper
Korey Cooper (born Korene Marie Pingitore) is a multi-talented American musician, best known as the keyboardist, rhythm guitarist, backing vocalist, programmer, string arranger, producer, and songwriter for the Grammy-nominated Christian rock band Skillet. She's been a core member since joining in 1999 (right after the album Hey You, I Love Your Soul and before Invincible), bringing her skills to massive hits like "Monster," "Hero," "Awake and Alive," and more across platinum-selling albums.
Before Skillet, she was in the band Alkeme (with future Skillet drummer Lori Peters and family/church connections). Her husband is Skillet's lead singer/bassist and founder John Cooper—they've been married for over 20 years, tour together, co-write/produce much of the band's music, and balance family life with rock 'n' roll. They have two kids: daughter Alexandria (often @alexandria.c.cooper online) and son Xavier. Korey often shares family glimpses, faith insights, and behind-the-scenes on her socials, emphasizing love, hope, and spreading positivity through music.
She's a powerhouse on stage—handling keys, guitars, vocals, and that signature Skillet energy—while staying grounded in faith, motherhood, and creativity. Still active with Skillet in 2026 (touring, releasing reimagined tracks like "Save Me," and more), she's admired for her versatility, resilience, and the way she and John make the band/family dynamic work so seamlessly.
Keep rocking those keys and inspiring fans, Korey—your talent, faith-driven heart, and family-first vibe make Skillet unstoppable! 🎹🎸🔥 KoreyCooper Skillet #ChristianRock
