Tough was encouraged by childhood friend and fellow Vancouver native Dorothy Stratten to pose for "Playboy." She was featured in the pictorial "The First Playmate Play-Offs" in the March, 1983 issue of "Playboy" and also graced the cover of this same issue.

That video of her camping, where she took it all off and then relaxed, completely bare from head to toe, in the tent, was one of the most amazing scenes in early Playboy videodom. Her curves were made to be displayed for the pleasure of the males. And to think that she may have been a virgin when she posed!
