About Kate Tracey
Raised in rural Cornwall on a dairy farm, Kate Tracey grew up immersed in pastoral life. Her parents, both teachers, kept leisure affordable and intentional: she didn’t receive riding lessons until age 11, a practice they tied to financial responsibility. Her early fascination with horses, paired with modest surroundings, fueled a deep appreciation for the sport she would eventually pursue as a career
A pivotal childhood moment came during a family trip to Warwick races. Despite embracing inclement weather and subpar racing—an experience many would forget—Kate found herself completely captivated, deciding at age five, “That’s where I wanted to direct my life.”
Teenage life propelled her toward professional ambition when, at 18, she completed the British Racing School’s foundation course, rising to the position of ‘head girl.’ She further honed her skillset with a journalism diploma from News Associates and the NCTJ, obtaining Gold Standard accreditation.
