From ski bunny to Playboy bunny, it’s Karina Marie, our Playboy Playmate Miss January 2013. Born in Basildon, Essex, just east of London, Karina is slim, lissome, with blonde hair and blue eyes, rather like Sienna Miller, another model Londoner. She landed her first magazine cover at seventeen, and has since been featured in GQ, Elle and Arena. “I’ve been modeling for ten years,” she says, and you can hear the East End in her voice. “I must be doing something right.” At five feet, eight inches, Karina is made to model – and after a guest spot on Channel 4’s The Salon, she had made up her mind. “I want to keep modeling,” she says, “but I’d love to be a reality TV host.” Nude modeling aside, Karina is a clothes horse – she spends her time in Camden Market, and her money on vintage clothes – and her taste in music takes her to festivals, like All Tomorrow’s Parties and the Isle of Wight. “Being in a field in my wellies, watching the sun go down, drinking a beer and listening to live music?” she says, with obvious pleasure. “Heaven.” For now, she’s enjoying her time as a Playmate, and she can’t wait to see what happens next. “I don’t like the word ‘no’,” she says, and with a face like hers, we can’t imagine she ever hears it. Karina wants what she wants, and we’re more than glad to oblige her.

I remember watching her Playmate video and I thought she was really sweet. She said she came from a small town near London called Basildon in Essex. There hadn't been enough British Playmates so she was very welcome. I also got the January/February 2013 issue where she graced the centrefold which I thought was great.
