Indian actress and film producer who predominantly appears in Tamil and Hindi films in addition to Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films.[2] Appeared in over 50 Films, Jyothika has received several accolades including a National Film Award, five Filmfare Awards South,[3] a Record of four Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress, two Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Film Category and Kalaimamani Award.[4] Jyothika is regarded as one of the most prolific actresses in Tamil cinema,[5] and has been ranked among the best actresses of South India by the media. Jyothika debuted in films with the Hindi film Doli Saja Ke Rakhna (1997), directed by Priyadarshan. She starred in her first Tamil film Vaali (1999) and her first Telugu film Tagore (2003), opposite Chiranjeevi. She received her first Filmfare Award for Vaali (1999) as Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South.[8] She was awarded the Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award for Kushi (2000)
