About Joke Van De Velde
Joke van de Velde (born December 28, 1979 in Ghent) is a Belgian model and presenter.
Van de Velde was Miss Belgium in 2000.
She also took part in the Miss World and Miss Universe pageants in 2000.
She studied modern language sciences at school, and then specialized in Dutch, French, English, and German and studied as a kindergarten teacher.
In 2000, she became Miss Belgium, after which she could focus more extensively on modeling and presentation work.
On September 17, 2000, the Department of Plant Genetics and Breeding Melle christened the Floribunda rose 'Joke'.
She appeared in various magazines such as Ché, P-Magazine, Menzo, and Maxim.
She also worked as a stylist for magazines such as Flair, Story, and Maxim.
In addition, she also appeared occasionally in television programs.
In 2001, she appeared in Big Brother VIPs.
In 2006, she took part in the program Stanley's Route, in which she reached the final.
She had guest roles in FC De Kampioenen and in the police series Witse.
In 2008, she was seen as a boxer in the video clip of Longface by Tom Helsen.
In 2010, she presented De Pokerkampioen van Vlaanderen on 2BE and took part in the program MasterChef.
In 2012, she took part in Expeditie Robinson.
Since 2007 she has been responsible for the organisation of Miss East Flanders, the pre-selection of Miss Belgium in East Flanders, and since 2010 also for the organisation of Miss West Flanders.
Since 2013 she has been working on a radio programme on Q-music every Wednesday.
Joke had a relationship with Belgian professional footballer François Sterchele a few weeks before his death in 2008.
