Imagine you are 2 days away from competing in the Olympic Games at home, then you are told that your mother has died suddenly. I don't think that you can comprehend something like that. The guts and courage she showed makes her incredibly special. She placed her bronze medal on the coffin at her mother's funeral.🥉

One of the greatest Olympic memories for me is watching this supremely brave lady compete just 2 days after her mother died of a heart attack at the 2010 Games in Vancouver. How she did it I'll never know, but she showed phenomenal mental strength and courage. She totally deserved the bronze medal she won.
