About Jatana Folston
Jatana Folston is an American track and field sprinter and middle-distance runner who competed at the collegiate level for the USC Trojans and the UCLA Bruins. Born on September 27, 2001, in Miami, Florida, she grew up in a prominent athletic family and established herself as one of the top high school runners in Florida before transitioning to the Pac-12.
Athletic Background & Career
High School Standout: While attending Cocoa High School, she won the Florida 2A state title in the 400m (2018) and claimed the gold medal at the 2018 AAU Junior Olympics.
Record Setter: In 2018, she set a Florida state record in the indoor 600m with a time of 1:32.04, which ranked as the fastest high school time in the nation that year.
Collegiate Transition: She initially signed an athletic scholarship with the University of Southern California (USC) in 2019. Following her time with the Trojans, she signed a National Letter of Intent to transfer to rivals UCLA in 2021.
