The model was found dead around 1:40 PM on October 22 at a hotel in the city of Kuala Lumpur, reported the newspaper The Star.
Iris, whose real name is Hsieh Yu-hsin, was at the hotel with rapper Namewee at the time of her death. The musician was initially not considered a suspect in her death, but he was arrested on the same day of the model's passing on suspicion of possession and use of drugs. However, he was released on bail two days later.
In a statement posted on his Instagram, Namewee denied drug use and said he felt 'deeply' about Hsieh's death. 'The truth will come out when the police report is released,' he wrote.
Later, the rapper ended up testing positive for amphetamines, methamphetamines, ketamine, and THC, the BBC reported.
