She starred in the original 1980 film, not the TV series that followed. Erica Gimpel played Coco in the TV version, alough of course Irene sung the theme tune in both.

I was very sad when I found out that she had passed away. To sing two Oscar-winning songs was incredible. My favourite song of hers is the UK number one smash hit Fame. I will remember her name, and she will live on forever.
