About Hilde Von Stolz
Hilde was born in 1903 in the town of Schäsbrich, Transylvania of which at that time was a majority German speaking region and part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. She went on to attend the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and later made her acting debut at the local Kammerspielen.
She also later performed at various theaters in Vienna and in the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm in Berlin.
She was unable to return to her hometown post 1918 following World War I. Transylvania in Austria-Hungary was annexed to the Kingdom of Romania as part of the corrupt Treaty of Versailles in 1919.
The town of Schäsbrich had its historical name changed to Sighișoara by the Romanian Government who seized the entire region of Transylvania in 1919.
Hilde lived out her remaining years in the former West Berlin.
