Haruka Nishimoto is a Japanese media personality, former actress, and former adult video (AV) performer. She was born on April 21, 1978, in Hinode, Nishitama District, Tokyo.
Her career in entertainment began at a young age. Driven by a desire to act, she joined the Tohai theater company in 1989 and went on to become a finalist in the 6th All Japan National Beautiful Girl Contest in 1992.

A major turning point came in April 1997 when, under her agency's direction, she formed the comedy duo Pirates alongside Yoshimi Asada. The duo gained widespread popularity on variety shows like Vocabulary Heaven. They achieved a massive breakthrough with their signature catchphrase, "Datchu-no," accompanied by a pose that emphasized their cleavage. The phrase won the Grand Prize at the 1998 New Words and Popular Phrases Awards, cementing them as pop-culture icons.

However, desiring to return to her original passion for acting and harboring concerns about her future as a variety performer, she left Pirates in September 2001, leading to the group's disbandment. She subsequently shifted her focus back to stage plays, television dramas (including Shin Kids War 2 and various mystery/suspense series), films, direct-to-video releases (V-cinema), and gravure modeling. In 2006, she expanded her artistic range by taking on her first nude and intimate scenes in her leading role for the film In the Darkness.

From the late 2000s onward, she continued to release solo projects, including film appearances such as Jorotsuki, glamour videos, and photo books. In 2012, following the publication of her photo book Shape, she made headlines by releasing her adult video debut, Don't You Know?, through the prominent adult studio MUTEKI.

Outside of entertainment, she has built a remarkably diverse professional background. Her work experience includes roles as a receptionist at a private club and a massage clinic, operating an online imported furniture store, handling estate liquidation, and working as a dental assistant in her 40s. Today, she maintains a multifaceted lifestyle, drawing on her background as a certified yoga instructor and master calligrapher, while also managing her women’s lifestyle brand and online shop, Carina.
