About Hannah Emde
is a German veterinarian, species conservationist, author and television presenter.
In 2017 Hannah Emde and a team of specialists founded the non-profit association Nepada Wildlife e. V., which is dedicated to global nature and species conservation as well as environmental education in Germany. The association is named after the Sunda clouded leopard, an extremely rare and endangered big cat.
In 2020 Hannah Emde published her first book Abenteuer Artenschutz. Als Tierärztin im Dschungel(Adventure Conservation. A Veterinarian in the Jungle) with Malik Verlag; in 2024 the expanded, revised and updated edition appeared under the title Nachtschicht mit Aras(Night shift with macaws). In February 2022 her six-part documentary series Hannah goes wild went online in the ARD Mediathek, in which she meets people in Namibia who work to protect species.
From 2021 to 2023 she worked as a veterinarian and consultant on a One Health project at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)(German Society for International Cooperation), supporting the establishment of the “International Alliance against Health Risks in Wildlife Trade.”
Since April 2024 she has been presenting the ZDF series Terra X: Faszination Erde.
