About Glynis Barber
Glynis Barber was born on October 25, 1955 in South Africa. Her parents divorced when she was five years old.
At the age of 18, she moved to London and studied at the Mountview Academy of Theatre.
She starred in the BBC SF television series "Blake's 7" and several movies, including "Tangier" (1982), "The Wicked Lady" (1983) and "Edge of Sanity" (1989).
Glynis Barber is best known for her role of Harriet Makepeace in the police drama "Dempsey and Makepeace" (1985-1986).
She then met Michael Brandon, her future husband.
They have been married since November 18, 1989 and have a son, Alexander Max Brandon.
She was previously married to Paul Antony-Barber.
She was cast as Glenda Mitchell in EastEnders (1985) when original choice Jill Gascoine quit after only one day of filming.
In between her husbands she spent about four years with actor Stephen Pacy who she met when they were in Blake's Seven.
As of January 1987 she was living in Hampstead, London.
