About Giovanna Romo

Giovanna Romo (born March 15, 1991, in Mexico City) is a Mexican actress and television host. She studied acting at CEFAT (Centro de Formación Actoral) at TV Azteca, where she graduated and launched her professional career.
Romo made her television debut in 2012 with the telenovela A corazón abierto, a Mexican adaptation of the American medical drama Grey's Anatomy, where she played Beatriz "Bea" Yañez. She subsequently appeared in several TV Azteca productions including Los Rey (2012-2013), Secretos de Familia (2013), Prohibido amar (2013-2014), ¡UEPA! Un escenario para amar (2014-2015), Entre correr y vivir (2016) and Tres Familias (2017-2018).
In 2018, she moved to Telemundo, appearing in the series El Señor de los Cielos. In 2020, she joined the cast of Los hijos de su madre for Claro Video and later that year entered Televisa to participate in the telenovela Como tú no hay dos. She returned to series work with Bake Off México: El gran pastelero for HBO Max in 2021.
Romo gained significant recognition as a member of the comedy collective Backdoor, which she joined in 2019. The group's sketch comedy series became a major success on platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Comedy Central and YouTube. She also starred in the series Harina (2022-2023), where she played Sandra, the wife of the protagonist Lieutenant Harina.
In film, Romo has appeared in Loco fin de semana (2019), Me vuelves loca (2023), Divina Señal (2023) and Todavía Conmigo. In 2024, she landed her first leading role in the film ¡Qué huevos, Sofía!.
She maintains an active social media presence with over 220,000 followers on Instagram, where she shares content about her career and personal life.
