About Emma Lawson
Emma is a Cambridge, ON-based professional CrossFit athlete. She is one of the top female competitors in the sport, known for her rapid rise from the teen divisions to elite individual contention.
She first competed at the CrossFit Games in 2019 (3rd in Girls 14-15). In 2021, she won the Fittest Teen on Earth title in the Girls 16-17 division. As a 17-year-old in 2022, she became the youngest individual competitor at the Games, finished 6th overall, and earned Rookie of the Year.
2023 peak: She took 2nd place overall (second-fittest woman on Earth) at the CrossFit Games, wearing the leader's jersey for much of the competition.
She comes from a CrossFit family (involved since age 7) and has a background in competitive dance and acro, which aids her gymnastics, flexibility, and work ethic. She trains with Brute Strength (joined in 2025) while based in Ontario and has her own YouTube channel for training and life content.
At the end of 2024, Emma launched her own podcast entitled Strong Girl Style. She states the podcast is her passion project to share her own personal lessons and experiences with females in sport. Strong Girl Style is produced and published solely by her.
Emma has dealt with a significant back injury (bulging disc at L5 with a pinched nerve), which caused her to miss much of the 2025 season. As of 2026, she has returned to competition and qualified for the CrossFit Games.
