Elçin Sangu (b. August 13, 1985, İzmir) is a Turkish actress and model of Circassian origin. She has become one of the most sought-after and highest-paid celebrities in Türkiye with her appearances in television commercials and campaigns. Before starting her acting career, she studied at the Opera Department of Mersin University. She was a stage actress before appearing in television series. She is best known for her role as "Defne" in the romantic comedy series Kiralık Aşk, which aired on Star TV from June 2015 until its finale in January 2017. She has been nominated for more than 20 awards, including three Golden Butterfly Awards, for her performance. Other projects she has taken part in include Bir Aşk Hikâyesi (2013-2014), Kurt Seyit ve Şura (2014), and Sevdam Alabora (2015).
Early life and education life
He was born in Izmir on August 13, 1985. Sangu, who completed his university education at Mersin University Opera Department, started to appear as an actor in TV series after receiving acting training at Sahne Tozu Theater in Izmir.
Career life
She first became known in 2011 with the character "Jale" in the series Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki. From 2013 to 2014, she played the role of "Eda" in Bir Aşk Hikayesi, the Turkish adaptation of the South Korean television series Her Sevda Bir Veda. In 2014, she portrayed Güzide in the historical drama series Kurt Seyit ve Şura, which was shot in Russia, Turkey and Ukraine. Following the ATV series Sevdam Alabora in 2015, she made her big breakthrough the same year by portraying the character "Defne" in the series Kiralık Aşk, in which she co-starred with Barış Arduç. The series ran for 69 episodes and Sangu's performance was acclaimed. In 2017, it was announced that Sangu was expected to appear in a new series to be broadcast on Kanal D. In addition, in August of the same year, it was announced that Sangu and Barış Arduç would appear in the movie Mutluluk Zamanı (formerly Yanımda Kal ve Gitme Sen!). In 2016, she became the brand face of Elidor care products and Boyner, and in 2021, she became the brand face of GittiGidiyor.
