About Eileen Gu

Eileen is a San Francisco, CA-based freestyle skier and fashion model.⁠ She was raised primarily by her Chinese mother (Yan Gu) in the US, with an American fathe, and identifies with both culture. She is a freestyle skier specializing in halfpipe, slopestyle, and big air, competing for China since 2019,after initially competing for the US. She started skiing at age 3. She has studied at Stanford University (BA; interests/fields noted as international relations, with earlier focus on quantum physics/physics; some reports indicate graduation around mid-2026, while others note ongoing studies or leaves for training.
She is also a professional model (signed with IMG), working with brands such as Louis Vuitton, Victoria’s Secret, Tiffany & Co., Red Bull, and others.
Career highlights include: 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics (age 18): Gold in big air and halfpipe, silver in slopestyle — becoming the youngest Olympic freestyle skiing champion and the first to win three freestyle skiing medals at one Winter Games. 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics: Gold in halfpipe, silver in slopestyle and big air — making her the most decorated freestyle skier in Olympic history (3 golds, 3 silvers total). Additional medals at World Championships, Winter X Games, and other events.
