The beautiful fitness model was born in Olongapo City in the Philippines to an American Irish father and Filipino mother. Her family moved to the United States when she was three. She grew up in Washington state but later moved to Portland Oregon where she worked as an aerobics instructor and run her own production fitness company.

At the age of 21 she was introduced by a friend to weightlifting. In 1987 she moved to California and was thrilled to earn a spot on the Los Angeles Raiders cheerleading squad. She also worked in the billing department of a leasing company.

Her passion, however, was competing in fitness contests. In the Miss Fitness USA she took fourth in 1992 and second in 1993. She was first runner-up in the 1993 Ms. Galaxy contest. Debbie's wished to be known as fitness model and in the last months of 1993 her biggest strides towards that goal as she succeed to appear cover of thee major Bodybuilding/Fitness publications: Ironman, Musclemag International and Powerhouse magazines all within two months.

Despite her supermodel looks, she was friendly and outgoing towards everyone. Although she spent much of her time working and training, she often found time to roller-blade up and down the nearby beach. She was not married.

Debbie Dobbins died of smoke inhalation on the morning of December 31st in New York City. Although a resident of Costa Mesa, California, Debbie had recently gone to New York to enlist the help of Tom Marinelle, a personal trainer, as she prepared for the 1994 Ms. Galaxy contest. A fire erupted at her apartment, but Debbie was unable to escape and succumbed to the smoke. Efforts were made to revive her, but she died the following day at a New York City hospital.
