About Dawn Brancheau

Dawn Brancheau was a dedicated and passionate senior animal trainer at SeaWorld Orlando, known for her deep love of marine life and orcas. From childhood, after watching the Shamu show, she dreamed of working with killer whales—turning that childhood wonder into a 15-year career starting in 1994, where she began with otters and sea lions before becoming a leading figure in the Shamu shows and even appearing as SeaWorld's "poster girl" on billboards.

She was admired by colleagues for her skill, leadership, and genuine bond with the animals she cared for, living out her lifelong ambition with enthusiasm and commitment.

In her memory, her family established the Dawn Brancheau Foundation, dedicated to improving the lives of children and animals in need, inspiring others to follow their dreams, and promoting community service.

Rest in peace, Dawn—your passion for animals and the joy you brought continue to inspire through your foundation and the lives you touched. 🐳💙
