She flew to Colombia to undergo a cosmetic iris implant procedure to permanently change her eye color from hazel to light gray. The implants blocked her eyes' natural drainage systems, causing severe glaucoma, cataracts, and permanent damage. Despite emergency procedures to remove the implants, Nadinne lost roughly 80% of the vision in her right eye and 50% in her left eye.
