About Claudia Marsani
The daughter of an Italian United Nations diplomat, her father's work gave her a cosmopolitan childhood: born in Kenya, she grew up in Thailand, Morocco, and Libya. Having settled in her native country as a teenager with her family, in 1973 she began to make a name for herself in the Italian entertainment world by winning the Miss Teenager pageant. Aided by her perfect command of English—along with French, her de facto mother tongue due to her long absence from Italy—she made her film debut in 1974, at the age of fifteen, when Luchino Visconti cast her in the role of the modern and unscrupulous Lietta in "Gruppo di famiglia in un interno," where she starred alongside actors of the caliber of Burt Lancaster and Silvana Mangano. She appeared in the Italian edition of Playboy at just sixteen, with her father's permission.
