Chantal Thuy is a Canadian actress born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. She is fluent in English, French and Vietnamese. In 2020, Thuy was cast as a series regular on the DC Comics television series "Black Lightning" in the role of Grace Choi, which ran for four seasons on The CW. She then portrayed the role of Det. Lia Kaleo, Magnum's new love interest, in season 4 of the hit CBS show "Magnum P.I.". She can next be seen in the French Canadian film "RU", which had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film is directed by Charles-Olivier Michaud and based on a beloved book by the same name written by Vietnamese author Kim Thúy.
On stage, Thuy made her Broadway debut in Tracy Letts' play "Linda Vista", alongside the Steppenwolf Theatre ensemble at the Helen Hayes Theatre. She reprised the role of Minnie Tran, previously performed at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.
Thuy is a graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City and resides between Los Angeles and Montreal.
