About Cecilia Pampinella

Cecilia is a Rome-based professional stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) athlete and multiple world champion. She started SUP in 2018 at age 12, inspired by her brother Tommaso. She quickly shifted from beach volleyball to focus on paddling.
She is a multiple-time World Champion (ISA and ICF combined: at least 6 titles, including junior and open categories). She was dominant in junior categories early on (e.g., 2022 ISA World Championships gold in sprint, technical, and distance; junior sprint world champion). She regularly competes and wins in elite/open women's races, including recent victories in the European SUP League (e.g., tech races in 2026).
She is known for her strength, versatility across sprint, technical, and distance events (with a preference for longer/downwind racing), and rapid rise in the sport. She trains along the coast near Rome, often solo, and has been part of the prestigious Starboard Dream Team since around 2024. She competes for the Italian Canoe Kayak Federation.
Cecilia is also an athlete in the sports group (Gruppo Sportivo) of the Aeronautica Militare (Italian Air Force). She officially joined in June 2025 when she took the oath of loyalty together with other new athletes at the Centro Sportivo Aeronautica Militare in Vigna di Valle. Her rank/title is often listed as Av. Sc. (Aviere Scelto — Selected Airman). She represents the Aeronautica Militare in competitions and is frequently thanked/supported by them in her posts and race results.
