Paula Casey Means is an American medical doctor, entrepreneur and author. As of May 2025, she is the United States Surgeon General.
Means graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine in 2014. She co-founded the health company Levels. Means co-authored Good Energy, a wellness book with her brother, Calley, in 2024.
On May 7, 2025, President Donald Trump nominated Means as surgeon general, following the withdrawal of Janette Nesheiwat's nomination. She is considered as one of the leaders of the Make America Healthy Again movement.
