Born and raised in New York of a wealthy Hong Kong based shipping dynasty. Attended the private all-girl Spence School. Studied at New York Law School. Joined law firm Millbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCoy. Abandoned legal practice in favor of show business around 1990, moved to Los Angeles, and started appearing in B-movies. Carolyn Liu also appeared in the March 1992 issue of Playboy (United States), there are 4 pictures of her, the 1st is a black & white where she is wearing a little black dress, black pumps, holding a little black purse, the 2nd is a color photo where she is outdoors standing next to a Rolls-Royce automobile wearing a white robe (left open intentionally), the 3rd is a color photo in which she is sitting in a wicker chair with her purse on the right arm and a bucket with a bottle of champagne and a champagne flute, in this photo she is completely nude, & finally the last picture is a color photo of her operating a motorboat thru a waterway, although she is standing, she is still completely nude.
She participated in the sexy TV program "Colpo Grosso".
