Raised in a family of entertainers—her father, Gerald, a concert promoter and musician, her mother, Lisa, a singer, and her grandmother, Mary Nomura, known as the “songbird of Manzanar”—she developed an early passion for acting. She attended Jordan Elementary, Santiago Middle School, and El Modena High School, later majoring in theater at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television.
