About Brenna MacMillan
Bluegrass and folk singer/songwriter, and banjo player. She was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and raised in Winchester, Kentucky. From an early age, she was singing and performing with a variety of groups like family, church, local bands, talent shows, and festivals. She performed frequently in the Lexington area which led to opening for Bluegrass legends, J.D. Crowe and Bobby Osborne. She attended Berea College, and played with the school's Bluegrass Ensemble. She won the Red Foley Memorial Music Award in 2018. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2018 after graduating from college with a degree in Chemistry, concentration in Biochemistry.
She and her brother, Theo had a Bluegrass band together, and made two bluegrass albums and toured for a few years. They mutually decided to pursue their own music careers in late 2022.
In eatly spring 2024, she left her day job of almost 6 years as a chemist to focus on music full time. She released her debut solo album "Dear Life" in October of 2024.
