Birta Abiba Þórhallsdóttir is an Icelandic model and beauty pageant titleholder known for winning Miss Universe Iceland 2019. She went on to represent Iceland at Miss Universe 2019, where she reached the Top 10. Birta was born and raised in Mosfellsbær, Iceland. She has an Icelandic mother and a Congolese father and has spoken publicly about her experiences with racism and the importance of diversity and representation. She has also been involved with the Icelandic Red Cross, particularly around children's access to education. Following her pageant career, Birta continued working professionally as a model and has worked internationally, including in New York. Her modeling work has included campaigns and appearances for brands such as McDonald's, FILA, and Champion.
