About Anna Pospisilova

Anna Pospíšilová (born March 22, 1995) is a Czech professional volleyball and beach volleyball player. She developed her career initially in indoor volleyball as a setter before progressively shifting her focus toward beach volleyball. Professional records list her at approximately 179–182 cm (5 ft 10.5 in–6 ft) tall.
Pospíšilová began playing organized volleyball at the age of ten with VK KP Brno, progressing through the club’s youth system before competing at senior level. She represented the Czech Republic at youth and junior international level, including appearances in the 2011 CEV Youth European Championship and the 2012 CEV Junior European Championship.
At club level, she competed in the Czech women’s top division from her teenage years. Her indoor career included spells with VK KP Brno, VK Šelmy Brno, and TJ Ostrava. With KP Brno and Ostrava she also gained experience in European club competition, with CEV records documenting her participation in several editions of the European Cups between 2012 and 2022.
Alongside indoor volleyball, Pospíšilová developed an increasing interest in beach volleyball, beginning to combine the two disciplines seriously around 2018. She spent several seasons partnering Michaela Kulhánková, with whom she achieved third place at the 2019 Czech Indoor Beach Volleyball Championship and fourth place at the 2021 Czech Championship. She subsequently competed with partners including Valerie Dvorníková, Martina Williams, Michaela Břínková, Daniela Mokrá, Magdalena Černá, and Julie Honzovičová.
Her beach volleyball career expanded onto the international Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. During 2025 she recorded several notable results, including third place at the Busan Gwangalli Futures, second place at the Balıkesir Futures, and third place at the Czech national championship. She also competed at Challenger and Elite16 level, representing Czechia internationally.
In 2026, Pospíšilová continued competing internationally and formed a partnership with Julie Honzovičová. The Czech pair earned a bronze medal at the Beach Pro Tour Futures in Kraków, while Pospíšilová also recorded fourth place at the Apeldoorn Futures and second place at the MEVZA event in Benešov during the same season.
Pospíšilová’s career is notable for successfully combining two forms of elite volleyball. Her background as an indoor setter provided her with extensive technical and tactical experience before she established herself on the international beach volleyball circuit. By 2026, she had accumulated more than a decade of senior-level competition spanning the Czech Extraliga, European indoor competitions, national beach championships, and the Beach Pro Tour.
