Dubbed the ‘model of the moment’ by numerous publications, Alva Claire is one of the world’s best-known plus size models. The south London-born star first made a name for herself in 2019, when she made her runway debut alongside Cara Delevingne and Bella and Gigi Hadid for Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty show. A couple of years later, she made history – along with Precious Lee and Jill Kortleve – as one of the first plus size models to walk for Versace. Since then, she’s appeared on multiple glossy magazine covers, and has walked for everyone from Nina Ricci to Burberry. Last month, Alva was nominated by the British Fashion Council for Model of the Year 2024, with the winner announced at the always-glittering Fashion Awards this December.
