About Alexis McAdams
Alexis McAdams (born on August 6, 1991, in Chicago, Illinois) is an Emmy-winning American journalist and national correspondent for Fox News Channel, known for her compelling reporting and on-the-ground coverage of major events.
Alexis was born in Chicago and grew up in the northern suburbs, including Palatine, Illinois. She developed an early interest in storytelling and current events, actively participating in school media activities. McAdams attended William Fremd High School, where she honed her skills in journalism and reporting. She then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism at Illinois State University, graduating in 2013. During college, she gained practical experience through internships at FOX Chicago News and WGN-TV, and worked as a field producer for WGN-TVβs segment βChicagoβs Very Ownβ.
McAdams began her professional career in 2013 as a weekend anchor and multimedia journalist at WTVO/WQRF-TV in Rockford, Illinois. She then moved to Indianapolis, joining FOX59 (WXIN) and CBS4 (WTTV) in April 2015 as a general assignment reporter and anchor, covering politics, crime, and local events. Her work earned her recognition, including an Emmy Award in 2016 for Best Weekend Newscast. In 2018, she returned to Chicago to work with ABC 7 (WLS-TV) as a general assignment reporter, covering breaking news, major storms, and human-interest stories.
Her career took a major step forward in October 2021, when she joined Fox News Channel as a national correspondent based in New York City, covering breaking news, crime, legal cases, protests, and major national events across the United States. McAdams is recognized for her calm presence during live reporting and her compelling storytelling, earning multiple awards including an Emmy Award and the Student Silver Dome Award.
