Alesha Anjanette Dixon is an English singer, rapper, television personality, and author born on October 7, 1978, in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Raised in a multicultural household by her English mother and Jamaican father, she initially intended to pursue a career in sports science and amateur athletics before her distinctive vocal and rapping talents were discovered on a London train, prompting her to redirect her ambitions toward the British music industry. 

Her music discography and hit singles trace a monumental journey from garage-group fame to individual pop success. She first found mainstream stardom in the early 2000s as a founding member of the pioneering all-female UK garage and R&B trio Mis-Teeq. As part of the group, she released the multi-platinum albums "Lickin' on Both Sides" in 2001 and "Eye Candy" in 2003, which yielded seven consecutive top-ten hit singles including "All I Want" in 2001 and "Scandalous" in 2003. Following the group's disbandment, she launched her solo career.
