About Alba Rohrwacher
Alba Caterina Rohrwacher (born February 27, 1979, in Florence, Italy) is an Italian actress known for her acclaimed performances in both independent and mainstream cinema. The daughter of a German father and an Italian mother, she initially studied medicine before enrolling at Rome's Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia to pursue acting. She made her film debut in An Italian Romance (2004) and has since earned multiple prestigious awards, including two David di Donatello Awards and the Volpi Cup for Best Actress for Hungry Hearts (2014). Rohrwacher has frequently collaborated with her younger sister, director Alice Rohrwacher, appearing in films such as The Wonders and Happy as Lazzaro. She also narrated and later portrayed Elena in the television adaptation of My Brilliant Friend. In addition to acting, Rohrwacher has served on the juries of major international film festivals, including Venice, Berlin, and Cannes, and has appeared in campaigns for the Italian jewelry brand Pomellato.
