About Sally Sheffield

Sally Sheffield (born June 17, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York) was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for the May 1969 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by Pompeo Posar, who later remarked, "Sally was an interesting lady, so smart". A younger sister, Anita Sheffield, also did some nude modeling.

It is of note that Sheffield was two months pregnant at the time of her photo shoot.

She received a bachelor's degree in psychology at Wellesley College, then went on to take a masters in musicology at the New England Conservatory of Music.

She is fluent in French and Hebrew. She is of Jewish ancestry and, prior to her Playboy appearance, spent six months on a kibbutz in Israel. Following her kibbutz, she returned to New York where, in 1965-66, she appeared on and wrote the music for an NBC-TV childrens' series called The First Look.

When asked why she wanted to be a Playmate, Sheffield candidly replied, "because it would be monetarily rewarding..."
