About Elene Gedevanishvili
Elene Gedevanishvili (Georgian: ელენე გედევანიშვილი, born January 7, 1990) is a Georgian figure skater. She competed in two Olympic Games so far: 2006 Turin and 2010 Vancouver. She is a 2-time bronze medalist in 2010 (Talinn, Estonia) and 2012 (Sheffield, United Kingdom) European Figure Skating Championships.
Her younger brother, Dmitri Gedevanishvili, is a competitive alpine skier.
Elene Gedevanishvili was born on January 7, 1990, in Tbilisi, Georgia. She began skating at 5 years old with her coach Tamara Anjaparidze. In 2000 she moved to Moscow for better training rink and coach, and began training under Elena Buianova and Tatiana Tarasova. In 2003, she won Georgian national championship at the age of 13.
She began competing at senior level in 2005-2006 season. She finished 5th place in 2006 European Figure Skating Championships, and got into final group of Free Skating in 2006 Winter Olympics.
However, the next season 2006-07 was very unfortunate for Elene. In October 2006, her mother Maka Gedevanishvili was deported by Russian officials, under international tension between Georgia and Russia. She had to return to Georgia with her mother, and was forced to pratice in small rink in Tbilisi, by herself, until she moved to the United States for new training rink and coach.
After several coaching change, Elene began training under Robin Wagner, who coached 2002 Olympic Gold medalist Sarah Hughes, in 2009. In 2010 European Figure Skating Championships, Elene finished 3rd, and became the first Georgian figure skating medalist in major international competition. She performed Marilyn Monroe, with Monroe's song "I Wanna Be Loved By You", in her exhibition program during 2009-2010 season.
Elene Gedevanishvili has high level of flexibility to perform Biellman spiral. She used to perform Biellman spin as well. She usually performs Arabesque spiral just before taking off double Axels.
Her favorite jumps are Toeloop and Lutz, while Loop is the most challenging one.
Elene Gedevanishvili is known for unusually large boobs for figure skaters. In official warmup for 2010 Winter Olympics, she got attention from several sports newspaper writers from Japan, and was estimated her bra size as G cup by them.
Elene posts her swimsuit photos on her official website, as Elene at Miami Beach. Many of her fan sites use those photos.
Elene appeared in bikini and showed her curves again, on April 7, 2012 issue of Shukan Gendai.
